The On Lok Mun Street Playground is one of the key features of the Fanling North New Development Area (Phase 1). In addition to upgrading the extreme sports facilities, the project team also elevate the new playground by adding green elements to provide a pleasant landscaping area.

A planting event was organized on 19 March 2025. Representatives from the Civil Engineering and Development Department, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the North District Office, together with members of the North District Council were invited to plant various species of trees and flowers, such as Golden Penda, Small-fruited Holly, and Cosmos, making the venue more vibrant.

To facilitate the construction of the Fanling Bypass (Eastern Section) project, the original On Lok Mun Street Playground was demolished in February 2023, and has been relocated about 150 metres north of the original site. The new playground was opened on 12 April 2025, and offers a variety of extreme sports facilities, including a bowl course and a street course. The facilities also meet international standards as certified by World Skate.
